Safety Manager

Department: Mechanical - Accounting/Admin
Location: Ferndale, WA

Andgar Mechanical, LLC has a new opening for a Full-time Safety Manager based out of our headquarters in Ferndale, WA

The Safety Manager provides technical safety and health support to personnel in all divisions. Develops corporate safety and health programs and objectives and coordinates safety training programs. Monitors safety and health regulations and provides technical support to management and other personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations, while adhering to Andgar company policies and standards.

Pay, Incentives and Benefits:

  • Starting Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 per year DOE.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works closely with staff in all divisions, human resources
  • Provides technical safety and health support and information to all staff
  • Prepares written safety and health programs and policies
  • Identifies company safety training needs and develops and coordinates safety training programs
  • Participates in new product/process reviews, including process hazard analyses, operator training, etc.
  • Supports corporate/plant engineering to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
  • Supports personnel in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Maintains corporate safety library (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals).
  • Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters and specific training programs.
  • Leads monthly safety and health committee meetings
  • Compiles information and OSHA 300 postings
  • Understands federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur.
  • Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker’s compensation claims.
  • Reviews injury/illness and noninjury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.
  • Visits worksites in order to promote and assist with safe practices, connects with team to accomplish safety goals.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at one time
  • Outstanding communication and listening skills
  • Adapts to changes in work assignments and environment, is willing to assume additional responsibility and learn new processes
  • Computer literate with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Accurately key-board at least 30 wpm

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience in HVAC or construction industry required
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Current Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
