Human Resources Manager

Department: Mechanical - Accounting/Admin
Location: Ferndale, WA

Andgar Mechanical, LLC has a new opening for a Full-time Human Resources Manager based out of our headquarters in Ferndale, WA

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for developing and executing human resources strategy in support of Andgar Mechanical, specifically in the areas of talent management, succession planning, performance management, compensation, and human resources operations while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal employment related laws.

Pay, Incentives and Benefits:

  • Starting Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 per year DOE.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Review and prepare HR policies and procedures, provide policy guidance and interpretation to management and staff. Initiate, create, and communicate policy changes as needed
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HR related laws, rules and regulations
  • Provide guidance and counseling to leadership and managers in areas of workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, talent management, compensation, and succession planning.
  • Guide and counsel supervisors through progressive discipline process for all positions, including the development and delivery of performance improvement plans.
  • Partner with managers and leadership to manage and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations, with appropriate interventions and documentation.
  • Identify root causes of engagement issues and develop plans to effectively address employee engagement with a favorable outcome
  • Analyze external and internal key HR metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies, in partnership with leadership, to improve organizational business decisions
  • Provide and implement innovative solutions to keep the company on the leading edge of industry trends in terms of benefits, retention, recruiting, compensation, turnover, and technology
  • Partner with hiring managers to select talent and fill openings
  • Identify and lead HR projects and continuously improve HR processes
  • Process unemployment, employment verifications, annual EEOC-1, and ACA (1095’s) reporting
  • Audit and approve HR related billings and invoices
  • Implements updates, and maintains employee benefit information and audits billing and file feeds
  • Manage leave programs including short- and long-term disability, FMLA, WA PFML.
  • Promotes a respectful culture, listening to each other and those we interact with, with kindness, compassion, and respect
  • Coordinate summer event and holiday event planning and employee recognition programs
  • Adheres to assigned work schedule (attendance and punctuality)
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, maintaining a clean work area
  • Seeks assistance as needed and asks questions in a timely manner and to appropriate staff
  • Additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrates team building and interpersonal skills by maintaining positive, collaborative, and constructive interpersonal relationships
  • Understands and practices the principles of effective teamwork, self-motivation and the ability to work independently and in a collaborative setting
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at one time
  • Adapts to changes in work assignments and environment, is willing to assume additional responsibility and learn new processes
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, best practices, and market trends
  • Understand business issues and how to identify and deliver HR interventions and solutions to meet business needs
  • Effective conflict resolution and employee mediation skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
  • Computer literate with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Accurately key-board at least 50 wpm

Education & Experience:

  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible Human Resources Generalist experience
  • Previous experience as a HR department of one
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • PHR, SHRM-CP certification required
